There’s so much to love about the Ensign Elementary School community!  

 

Please check out the two Facebook groups associated with our school:

(1) Ensign Elementary School - Salt Lake City (run by the school), and

(2) Ensign Elementary PTA (run by members of the Parent-Teacher Association).

➢  Joining Ensign PTA is a great way to get involved and learn more about the school, especially for new families.  Jump right in to get the most out of our school community!  Our PTA provides a variety of resources, raises money, and organizes events throughout the year benefiting Ensign students, parents, families, teachers, staff, our wonderful Avenues neighborhood, and all of Salt Lake City.

  • New Student Popsicle Party (Tuesday, August 13, 2019, 6:00 p.m.):  meet fellow incoming students and families.
  • Back to School Night (Thursday, August 15, 2019, 6:00-7:30 p.m.):  get acquainted with Ensign and all it has to offer, including teacher & class info, signups for volunteer opportunities at PTA events, Fall Fundraiser information, SCC and traffic committee info.
  • Boo Hoo/Yahoo Breakfast (after 8:35 a.m. drop-off on the first day of school, Monday, August 19, 2019): celebrate and cry (happy) tears as we return from summer break and enjoy a light breakfast with fellow Ensign parents.
  • PTA Meetings (monthly; first meeting of the school year will be held Friday, September 6, 2019, 11:30am in the PTA Room): Join us!  Please visit our website www.ensignpta.org for dates and times. 
  • Room Parent Opportunities (all year): get involved in your child’s classroom!
  • School pictures, vision screenings & hearing screenings (throughout the year)
  • Disaster preparedness (early fall): coordinate schoolwide emergency supplies.
  • Teacher appreciation (all year): monthly teacher treats, plus a weeklong springtime celebration of extra thanks for our wonderful teachers.
  • Fall Bash (Friday, September 20th, 5:00-8:00 p.m.): a back-to-school carnival for all!  Lots of fun including bouncy houses, food trucks, and more.
  • Fall Fundraiser (fall): solicit and collect donations for crucial PTA funding.
  • Red Ribbon Week (October): drug prevention awareness campaign with special theme days (crazy sock day, pajama day, and more).
  • Halloween Pumpkin Parade (Halloween): share your carved masterpieces!
  • PTA Reflections Arts Program (fall): a student arts showcase.
  • Veterans Program (November)
  • Junior Achievement / Biztown (ongoing)
  • Annual Ensign Community Service Project (dates vary): past projects include holiday giving trees, toiletry kits for the homeless population, and others.
  • STEM Night (Tuesday, January 14, 2010) & Science Fair (Wednesday, January 15, 2020): students exhibit their work & family members are invited to volunteer as judges.
  • Talent Show (Tuesday, January 28, 2020): a talent showcase opportunity for all students.
  • Spelling Bee (February) & Write Your Heart Out (Thursday, February 12, 2020)
  • Gallery Stroll (Friday, February 28, 2020): annual school-wide spring art exhibition by all students, featuring a silent auction, food, and family activities.  A favorite yearly tradition at Ensign!
  • All School Stomp (evening of Friday, April 17, 2020): A dance party for students and their families!  Featuring a DJ and treats.
  • Maturation (Spring); Kindergarten Orientation (May); Teacher Appreciation Week (May 4-8, 2020); Volunteer Appreciation Lunch (Thursday, May 14, 2020); 6th Grade Promotion and Tinikling Dance Celebration (Friday, May 29, 2020); Field Day (end of year)
